Modern Luxury Silicon Valley
The power and influence of women was felt Saturday, February 6, in downtown Los Altos when Abby Ahrens, the synamic developer and owner of Enchanté Boutique Hotel, hosted a reception for media personality and entrepreneur Wendy Diamond. More than 17 years ago, Diamond launched Animal Fair, one of the country’s leading dog and pet lifestyle media companies, and became a trailblazer, pioneer, and media darling in the animal welfare world – she holds three Guinness records and is sometimes called “the Martha Stewart of pet lifestyle.”
Diamond also founded the global initiative and United Nations partner Women’s Entrepreneurship Day, celebrated in 144 countries and at 102 universities and colleges.
Along with her dog Baby Hope, Diamond was introduced by CBS news anchor Veronica De La Cruz and presented with a formal proclamation from the County of Santa Clara and the City of Los Altos honoring her for her tireless eforts to empower women with a vision to end poverty around the world.
Besides Ahrens, other prominent members of the local organization WE (Women Entrepreneurs) Los Altos were also present, plus New York developer Arthur Zeckendorf, NBC Today show etiquette expert Tom Farley, and other local leaders of nonprofit and for-profit businesses.
